BBC match report –

Swansea City were sucked back towards the Conference trapdoor after losing their vital relegation dog fight against Exeter City.

Sean Devine struck midway through the second half at the Vetch Field to move Exeter off the bottom of Division Three and climb to within a point of their hosts.

The first half was a lacklustre affair with little incident but things livened up after the break.

Steve Flack missed a glorious opportunity to open the scoring for the visitors in the 53rd minute when he headed a James Coppinger cross wide when well placed.

The Swans hit back and Marc Richards should have found the target but blazed high and wide from just two yards.

Exeter made the home side pay on 68 minutes when Flack headed a deep cross back into the crowded goalmouth for Devine to finish.

Swansea huffed and puffed, but Exeter continued to hold the upper hand with first Devine and then Flack squandering opportunities to increase the visitors' lead.
