Match 39
19th February 2005
Leigh RMI (a)

Leigh RMI 0-1 Exeter

Sean Devine's first-half strike condemned basement side Leigh to their 22nd loss in 28 games this season.

The Railwaymen started brightly, Chris Clarke's goalbound effort bravely blocked by Gary Sawyer before Exeter gained a foothold in the game.

Jake Edwards volleyed narrowly wide but the visitors took the lead when Devine fired home from inside the area.

Leigh continued to match the Grecians but struggled to penetrate a resolute and dogged Exeter backline.
