The Grecians fell victim to lethal Ipswich finishing as the Portman Road side took a 3-0 lead through Maurizio Tarrico (30 minutes), Matt Holland (31) and Mich Stockwell (43), before Jon Richardson pulled one back a minute before the break. Former Torquay 'keeper Ashley Bayes pulled off a string of breathtak- ing saves throughout, bat was again beaten during the last ten minutes by Alex Mathie and Paul Mason.
