Match 28
27th March 2005
Gloucester City (a)
Sunday 27th March 2005
South West Women's Football league Premier Division
Gloucester City 2
Exeter City Ladles 3
Exeter City Ladies' superb form continued as they picked up a 3-2 win at Gloucester City. The win - the Grecians fourth in a row, comes on the back of the 9-1 demolition of Dorchester Town. Just a few weeks ago City were embroiled in a relegation scrap, but their stunning recent form has seen them climb to sixth in the South West Women's Premier Division - a healthy 11 points clear of the drop-zone.
An Emma Redwood lob and a Tracey Cross header had City 2-1 up at the interval. On 70 minutes, a spectacular 20- yard own-goal gifted them a two goal cushion, and despite the home side pulling one back, Steve McLear's side held on to record a well-deserved double over their opponents.
