City commenced their pre-season fixture list with an away match against Exeter & Tedburn Rangers FC. As City are trialling several new players this season, the match was split into three thirty minute thirds enabling manager Steve Tully to swap players and the system when necessary. The match ended as a 12-0 win for City with striker Kirsty Caunter netting five, left winger Marika Ghiglia and centre forward Helen Kukor both scoring twice. Midfielder Naomi Wilkins, wingers Natalie Shenton and Hannah Cox grabbed one goal a piece as the Grecians ran out comfortable winners.
