Match 10
10/10/2004
League
Yeovil Town (Home)

Sunday 10 October SWWFL-Premier Division Exeter City Ladies 1 Yeovil Town 4

Exeter City went into this game full of confidence, coming off the back of two fine wins. This confidence saw City go one nil up after just 7 minutes when Rachel Edwards played a fine through ball to Jo Goldsworthy. Goldsworthy took the goal well, placing the ball neatly past the keeper after a one on one. This goal should have spurred City on but seemed to have the opposite effect, and Yeovil came back into the game. After ten minutes Yeovil's hard work paid off and they scored their first. City continued to be on the back foot and this saw Yeovil score two more before half time. City played better in the second half, but saw themselves conceding another goal after a defensive error failed to clear the ball. Yeovil continued to dominate and had opportunities to increase their lead, but City 'keeper Sarah Bell made some fine saves to deny them.

Manager Steve Mclear said: "All in all this was a disappointing performance, after the two previous results. Only half the team wanted to play today and you can't afford to do that against a quality side like Yeovil. We will go away and work on what went wrong and put it right before Sunday's cup game."
