FA Women's Cup second round

It was a game that had taken almost a month to get on because of the horrendous weather, which took only 15 minutes for it to be effectively all over for the Grecians against Argyle Ladies. A first-minute penalty by Becca Rose set the Pilgrims on their way before an avoidable second and a well-struck third from distance effectively ended the tie as a contest after quarter of an hour.

Exeter finally settled and begun to string some good forward moves together through an attacking trio of Helen Kukor, Lola Garcia Sanchez and former Pilgrim Tash Knapman - though it was Marika Ghiglia, up from left-back, that stole in to reduce the arrears before the break.

However a defensive mix-up cost City a fourth, before Argyle captain netted a brace of free-kicks to compound the Grecians' misery and to send the hosts into the third round, where they will face Brighton.
