Jared Thompson signed a short-term deal with Exeter City in February 2020. Born in Swindon he spent four years with Chelsea from 2015 to 2019. During this time he had periods on loan with Chippenham and Warrenpoint as well as playing for both England and Northern Ireland at age group level.

At Exeter City, Jared was on the bench for three league games in addition to the EFL Trophy semi-final at Portsmouth. He did not make an appearance in any of these games and left the club soon afterwards.

After a short spell with Brentford B Jared joined Danish club FC Midtjylland in July 2021 as back-up goalkeeper. At Midtjylland he was a non-playing substitute for a number of games in the Champions League, Europa League and European Conference League. This included both legs of his club’s successful Champions League qualifiers against Celtic in July 2021. 

Jared remained in Denmark signing for second-tier Vendsyssel FF in January 2023 but was soon to return to England as he appeared for both Weymouth and Gloucester City during the 2023/24 season.
