Chris Weale was a veteran of 350 Football League and National League games when he was an unused substitute for Exeter City on four occasions during the 2018/19 season. He was working with the club as a goalkeeping coach at the time. 

Chris joined Yeovil Town, his home town club, as a teenager and played for the Yeovil teams which won the FA Trophy in 2002 and the Football Conference in 2003. He moved to Bristol City in 2006, Leicester City in 2009 and Shrewsbury Town in 2012.  Chris returned to Yeovil in 2014 and even had a short stint as cover at Derby County before playing for Southern League Dorchester Town until 2018.

Since leaving Exeter City, Chris has worked as director of football coaching at Sherborne School.
