EXETER LIFT CUP AFTER ANOTHER SHOCK WIN

DEVON League second division side Exeter City Centre of Excellence shocked 300 fans at the Coach Road ground, Newton Abbot beating premier division team Totnes & Dartington SC 3-1 to lift the Devon League Cup

Having beaten fellow newcomers North the Prospect Rangers in round 1, the division two leaders they went on to beat four premier division teams in a row to lift the cup.

Exeter started quickly with the pace and skill of their effervescent star player Lola Sanchez continually troubling the Totnes defence with her darting runs.

And it was the dimino tive Sanchez who fired in the 14th minute opener after the Totnes goalkeeper Katrina Dunn twice had her clearances charged down.

Pour minutes bater Jade Maryan thumped a 40 yard rocket into the net to make 11 2-0. Exeter's Kellie Hall headed just over from a corner, but five minutes later the defender had an identical chance to score which she did with a powerful header.

A stunned Totnes came out for the second half look-ing to get back into the game and after a couple of near misses, Justine Howarth grabbed their consolation goal but it proved to be to little to late.
