Biographical Text

Bernard Grant played just twice for Exeter City during the late 1940s having joined the club from Third Lanark. He later played for Minehead.

Having played around fifty league games for Glasgow club Third Lanark in the seasons immediately after the Second World War, Bernard moved south to sign for Exeter City in July 1947. At the time of his arrival it was intimated that his wife had been advised to move to Devon for health reasons.

Not featuring at all for the first-team during 1947/48, Bernard made a belated debut at Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic on 22 September 1948. Appearing just once more - in the return fixture against Bournemouth in April 1949 - he was released at the end of the season and was reported to have joined Minehead.

Bernard died in 1984.
