Jack Fanning, a centre back, was part of Exeter City's academy from around the age of eight to sixteen. After leaving school he went to Exeter College and started playing youth football for Tiverton Town making his first-team debut aged sixteen in 2022/23.

At Ladysmead Jack played five first team games - three in the league and two in the Devon St Luke's Bowl - before joining Swansea City as a scholar in March 2023 with Tiverton reporting that an 'undisclosed fee' had been paid.

At the start of the 2024/25 campaign Jack signed a one-year professional deal with the Swans with a view towards him becoming part of the club's under-21 team.
