Biographical Text

Max Edgecombe, from Wellington in Somerset, became an Exeter City scholar/trainee in 2022 before signing professionally in 2023. He made his first-team debut in the EFL Trophy early in the 2023/24 season.

Max started his scholarship/traineeship upon leaving school having already featured in the FA Youth Cup as an under-16 player during the 2021/22 campaign. He subsequently signed his first professional contact in March 2023, a year ahead of the normal schedule.

Entering into his first full-season as a professional, Max made his first-team debut in September 2023 in the EFL Trophy against Reading and shortly afterwards played against Arsenal under-21 in the same competition. With an initial contract extending into the 2024/25 season, he suffered a series of injuries and ultimately did not make his first appearance of the following season until facing Bovey Tracey in the Devon St Luke's Bowl in October 2024. Having missed out on further EFL Trophy appearances, Max played for City's under-21s in the Premier League Cup in addition to experiencing a period on loan with Tavistock.
