Max Edgecombe, from Wellington in Somerset, became an Exeter City scholar/trainee in 2022 before signing professionally in 2023. He made his first-team debut in the EFL Trophy early in the 2023/24 season.
Max became a scholar/trainee in July 2022 after already featuring in the FA Youth Cup as an under-16 player. He subsequently signed his first professional contact in March 2023, a year ahead of the normal schedule.
Entering into his first full-season as a professional, Max made his first-team debut in September 2023 in the EFL Trophy against Reading and shortly afterwards played against Arsenal under-21 in the same competition. With a contract extending into the 2024/25 campaign, he suffered a series of injuries and ultimately made his first appearance of the new season against Bovey Tracey in the Devon St Luke's Bowl in October 2024.
