Thrilling the game certainly was, with as many near misses as there was goals, A three goals in a three minute spell soon after half time and two goals in two minutes later on just to keep the tempo up, but it was disappointing too, because City were twice in the lead and looked to have their first win of the season in the bag. They were playing hard and good football in two long spells, the first half hour and a stretch in the middle of the secnd half when Brentford were almost swamped, Wilson gave City the lead in the fifth minute after a fine Calland-Currie-Lightly move but in the 31st minute Towers hit a great shot from 25 yards to equalise. So it stayed until the 53rd minute despite close calls at both ends, then City swept into the lead again, First Harvey scored with a penalty after Dargie had handled and within a minute Currie crossed the ball from the byline for Churms to score the third, The third goal in this tremendous burst came straight from the kick off, Francis went through to score, For 18 minutes City led well, then came the collapse, Francis equalised in the 73rd miute. Towers put Brentford ahead a minute later, then five minutes from time Parsons went racing in again to complete the scoringCity have now conceded ten goals in two home games and the way they played they will concede a lot more.
