City got their best Christmas present ever, they thrashed Torquay United 5-1 to do a christmas double over their Devon rivalsCity were roared on by a large crowd, they ripped Torquay wide apart with ease and consistency. Torquay had their best spell in command late in the game but they never looked as dangerous as had City, who started with a goal inside 60 seconds through Churms,

Churms scored again in the 30th minute and with a minute to go to half time Nicholls sent the crowd into wild delight with a sheer perfect chip over Gill into the netNicholls scored again eight minutes after beating two men, but Torquay hit back when Collins scored from the spot after Harvey had handled although he had looked to have been outside the penalty area.

John came storming up to crash in City's fifth goal in the 75th minute, John was City's best defender, with only Rapley failing in the forward lineThe Christmas cracker however, goes to Dale, what a player and what a pounder of nightmares to the Torquay defence.
