What a week, What a fantastic fighting furious week, three games, three wins, It does not seem possible that a team with no points from seven games and seemingly no hope could change so suddenly and so victoriously, Brighton might have looked a smoother close knit combination but too often played too much across the field, no thrust football and that was just what the City's strong defence wanted. A strong defence indeed with the tireless energy of wing halves John and Mitchell enabling them to take top honours,

The game looked lke heading for a goalless conclusion, when in the 70th minute a six man move ended with Rapley, the least impressive of the City forwards sending Exeter into the lead. Ten minutes later Foley hit a pass to Rees, he smoothed a perfect ball to Nicholls who made no mistake for goal number two,

It was undoubtedly City's best performance of the season. They are beginning to believe in themselves and showing real determination, City's best forward was again Dale, he had the Brighton defence trembling at times. He was the games outstanding footballer.
