Lewis Spence played for Exeter City as a triallist against Tiverton Town on 7 July 2023 but did not appear again for the club and signed for Edinburgh City a month later. 

He had joined Dunfermline Athletic as a trainee in 2012 where he made 45 league and cup appearances with two spells on loan at Brechin City. Moving to Dundee in 2017, Ross County in 2019 and Scunthorpe United in 2020 he made around a hundred league appearances in the process before a two-season spell with Hamilton Academical for whom he had  23 league outings. 

Released by Edinburgh City at a time of financial crisis, Lewis saw out the 2023/24 campaign with East Kilbride eventual winners of the Lowland League.
