Henry played for Exeter City in the Plymouth and District League before the club turned professional in 1908.
He played his only game for Exeter City’s first team against St Michael’s (Plymouth) on 8 December 1906. In a season when forty-two players appeared for the team, he was one of three players (including Evelyn Lintott of St Luke’s College, Queens Park Rangers and England) for which this was their only-ever first team game.
