Exeter started brightly however whilst applying pressure from the outset, they struggled to penetrate Brixham's defence. On the twenty fifth minute mark, a Hannah Cox cross was converted by City's latest signing, and former Arsenal ladies trialist Kirsty Caunter, to open the scoring Two minutes later and Gabby Stoneman forced her way through the defence, before laying the ball off for Cax who hit the back of the net with a superb strike from the edge of the box City made it three just before half time when a Kerry Hurley corner was headed home by Caunter.
City came out for the second half firing on all cylinders, and within ten minutes had netted another three goals, two from Naomi Wilkins and a further one from Stoneman. Brixham conceded a free kick deep inside their half which was taken quickly by left winger Zoe Kingdom. This found centre half Jade Maryan who had pushed on for the tactical set piece, to head the ball straight into the back of the net. 7-0 to City The next goal was undoubtedly the goal of the game and came when Stoneman took the ball from the half way line through Brixham's midfield, before hitting a twenty-five yard strike direct into the top right comer. With fifteen minutes to go. City were determined to capitalise on Brixham's apparent lack of fitness and extend their goal difference further crosses from both Siobhan Aslett on the right wing and Gemma Ralph who had been brought on to replace an injured Zoe Kingdom) on the left, were converted by Caunter, taking the final score to 10-0 and Caunter's debut tally to four!
Another, in a succession of good results for the girls!
