Match 23
26th February 2012
Weymouth Town (h)
Exeter City LFC 1-0 Weymouth Town
The previous meeting of these two teams had been a tough match, with City winning 4-1.
Both teams started strongly with City looking to cement their position at the top of the South West Women's Premier Division. Just two minutes into the match, City's new keeper Dani Bradford threw the ball out to left back Tamsin Braund, who on a run down the left was fouled and brought down with a late challenge. She suffered a broken collarbone, which will sideline her for six weeks. Both teams battled through the first half, with neither able to break the deadlock. City were awarded a corner shortly into the second half. Catherine Wright's in-swinger was headed home by centre half Naomi Wilkins. City dominated the second half but were unable to find a second. The match ended 1-0.
