Hopes and Expectations
2012/13

Exeter City had risen up the pyramid, from the newly formed team that was created in 2006, and by 2012 the new team was playing in the South West Combination under the management of Steve Tully.

The following is from an extract of an interview with Steve Tully

"And your Ladies team have enjoyed a pretty decent start to the league as well?"

We have. We lost our first league game but then won 4-1 two weeks ago then beat Plymouth last Sunday. It's a big step up and going to take the girls a bit of time to adapt. They did really well to win and we just have to move forward now.

"It's a real challenge for the girls to rise to the new level of this much tougher league isn't it?"
It is, I think they've had four promotions in five years now which has been remarkable really. This season is all about stability but we might surprise a few teams this season. They are a really good team and perhaps just have to believe in themselves a bit more and hopefully I can push them on and we'll see where it takes us.

"I expect as a manager you thrive on taking on better sides as well?"

Definitely while I'm doing my badges this is really testing me and pushing me forward. A coach is what I want to be in the long run so this is all good."
