Tom McCready arrived from Morecambe in 2015 and left for AFC Fylde two years later without establishing himself in the first-team.
Tom became an Everton trainee in 2007 and moved to Hibernian two years later. Without playing first-team football at Easter Road he played for non-league Altrincham and Chester before undertaking a scholarship at Limestone University in South Carolina. On his return home Tom signed non-contract forms for Morecambe and made his Football League debut in October 2014.
Tom came to Exeter for a trial in January 2015 and signed a contract a few weeks later making his Grecians debut against AFC Wimbledon in March 2015. With a one-year contract extension in 2016, Tom remained at the club until May 2017 playing in a total of 19 league and cup games. His one goal came at Sunderland in the League Cup on 25 August 2015 but he did not appear for the first-team after the August of his final season.
Leaving Exeter, Tom played a few games for AFC Fylde before joining Colwyn Bay on loan in a move that soon became permanent. Tom continued to play for Colwyn when the club made the switch from English to Welsh football in 2019, and after a short spell at Runcorn Linnets, he was soon back at Colwyn where he was captain in 2022/23.
Tom went on to work in the financial services industry in Manchester.
