ON THIS DAY:
THE GRECIANS AND MUSIC.

1967
In the first half of their game against Luton Town at St James' Park, Exeter City were never in it against a team that had not won away for ten months. When Luton went ahead, it was no more than they deserved. However, it only took a minute for the Grecians to equalise through Ray Elliott. The second half proved to be different story with City on top, and they went on to get the winner when Ray Keeley scored.

On the same afternoon the City reserves lost 3-1 at Welton Rovers in a Western League fixture. Peter Godfrey netted the City goal.

City lashed in three goals in the first half to rock the Geordies, and they never recovered, eventually losing 4-0 before an ecstatic crowd of 17,668.
