Last season (2002/03) proved difficult with the team struggling to finds its feet, but they managed to find their form near the end of the season and avoided relegation.
Therefore Exeter City LFC were still playing in the SOUTH WEST WOMEN'S COMBINATION LEAGUE. 

Simon Hayward formed a reserve team that played at Sidmouth Town AFC, they played in the Westward Development Women's League Division 1, and were Champions.
