City women edge closer to promotion

EXETER City Ladies need four wins from their six remaining games to guarantee promotion to the South West Conference next season.

The South West Premier leaders took another step towards the title with a 7-0 win against Okeford last weekend. It took the Grecians 20 minutes to find their feet be- fore Hannah Courtney headed in the opener. Then they struck three times in the space of eight minutes to roar into a 4-0 lead at the break with Becky Batten (33), Courtney (38) and Josie Copp (41) on target. Jo Goldsworthy fired home from the penalty spot after the break and Josie Copp pounced on a goalkeeping error before Courtney completed her hat-trick.

Exeter travel to Oldland Abbotonians tomorrow before entertaining Chalford at Cullompton Rangers on April 7.
