1907
Plymouth based side, Green Waves, completed the double over Exeter City in the Plymouth and District League Having already beaten the Grecians 2-0 at St James Field, they won the return fixt 3-0
1912
A goal from Arthur Rutter gave Exeter City a 1-1 draw at Coventry City in the Southern League Athough a good result City had stretched their winless run to four matches, in a season which eventually saw the ending in 15th place. 
1923
Disaster! The local Third Division South derby at Home Park resulted in a crusing 5- 1 for Plymouth Argyle before an attendance at 16.000. The only bright spot for City was the successfully taken penalty by leading goalscorer Harold Crockford.
1929
The 1928-29 season was not a particularly memorable one as far as the Grecians were concerned . But on this day the they did manage to draw 2-2 at St James Park against Bristol Rovers. A young Cliff Bastin scored the second City goal to continue his meteoric rise in the game which eventually led to his transfer to Arsenal at the end of the season. The other goal came from Harold Houghton
1934
Bristol Rovers again provided the opposition on this day in 1934 But this time they had to travel to Eastville. The outcome was a 1-1 draw, with Tom Scott netting before an attendance of 10,000
1935 
There was another heavy defeat as Extras they went down 6-1 at Swindon Town John Scott scored City's goal. The goals had also flowed in the earlier match between the two sides at St James Park which had ended all square at 3-3.
1938
Exeter were in the midst of a good run of form, and this carried on with a 1-1 draw when Southend United were the visitors to the Park. Surprisingly only 3,000 spectators were present to see Dick Ebdon score the City goal Exeter hard lost just once in ther previous nine league matches.

1946
Playing in the Third Division South Cup Southern Section, Exeter were still using guest players as they entertained Crystal Palace Many of the players were still in the services so City regularly invited quests, like every other club at that time. It was two established City players who scored in the 5-2 deleat though, as George Wardle and Steve Walker found the net

1956
Ted Buckle and Ray John scored a goal each in the Good Friday match gained a 2-1 victory at Somerton Park over Newport County. The following Monday, City  were to complete the double over County with a 2-0 win.

1957
Exeter City recorded their best win of the season as they tore Shrewsbury Town, 5-1 Amold Mitchell and James Currie scored two goals each, whilst Keith Thomas scorec the other

1959
With Exeter chasing promotion to the Third Division, their cause was helped before an attendance of 8,950 as goals from Graham Rees, Ted Calland and Nelson Stiffle gave them a 3-1 win over Millwall at home. Making his debut in goal for City was John Lobbet who was replacing the injured George Hunter who had sustained a broken leg in the previous game at Port Vale

1963
Although the Grecians were struggling in the Fourth Division, they were at this stage of the season enjoying a much improved run of results. They recorded the 5th win in six matches with a 3-0 result at Oxford United

1964
Well on course for promotion for the first time in the history of the club. Exeter City made the short trip to Torquay United where 13.655 spectators squeezed into Plainmoor.

1968
An Alan Banks goal gave City only their third win in eleven matches at Bradford Park Avenue. Less than 2.000 spectators were present at Valley Parade for a game which never reached any great heights of entertainment.

1970
With only four matches left before the end of the season, Chester were the visitors to St James Park on this day in 1970. A surprisingly good attendance of 3.722 were present in what was otherwise a disappointing season as far as City were concerned. 

1974
Scottish striker Alan Devlin made his League debut for Exeter City in the match at Peterborough United. The Posh however spoilt the big day

1985
The City recorded their second successive 3-2 victory with Hartlapool United returning to the North East pointless. Only 1,570 were present at the Park to see two goals from Martin Ling and one from Jim McNichol.
