1965
City play a friendly against Slovan Bratislava. The Czech side included six players of International experience and they showed their class with intricate inter passing and running off the ball. But their style also meant plenty of space and opportunity for City to play some football themselves and they took great advantage of it, Things began to warm up after City's second goal, the pace got hotter, the tackling had more bite, and the City had more edge particularly in their finishing, really it boiled down to City forcing their own pace and lasting it betterCity's man of the match was winger turned defender George Ley who was one of the most polished players on the field. City were four goals up, before Medvid scored a consolation goal 12 minutes from the end. Bruce Stuckey scored his first goal for the first team in the 39th minute, George McLean added another two minutes later. Hrivnak scored an own goal after 55 minutes and Jimmy Blain added number four in the 75th minute

1951 Dick Walton joins city from Leyton Orient
