Season Summary
1989/90
Season Summary
After a flying start and winning their first 8 league games and being unbeaten in the league in 1989, Rangers finally dropped a point in March against Clyst Villa, but they went on to win all their remaining fixtures and ultimately winning the league.
Their record was outstanding, having won 12 games drawing one and being awarded the points when Exeter University WFC could not raise a team in May 1990. The season had been extended due to poor weather in January.
Rangers won the “League Cup” after wins against Bridge Club, Bridgwater, Lesiureline and Exeter University. And reached the Semi-Final of the Margaret’s Cup. However they had been well beaten in the WFA Cup first round at home to Keynsham
Maxine was the only ever present, with Nicky, Jo Daley and Jo Richards only missing one of the 25 games played.
The leading scorers in all competitions
Sam Cox won the vote for Player of the year, after playing all but one game in all competitions and scoring 50 goals. The most improved player was Jo Richards and the Club Person of the year was Wendy Richards.
