The club was founded in 1990 as Yetminster Ladies by Tony Baverstock with the first ever game being against Weymouth Vikings on 16 September 1990, resulting in a 2-2 draw. South West Leagues was home to the club before renaming as Sherborne Ladies FC in 1993. A further 6 years and an FA Cup Fourth Round tie with a crowd of over 500 people was to come before a change to Yeovil Town Ladies FC in 1999.
