Marine Academy (Plymouth)

Formed as Saltash Utd back in 2005, a small squad steadily progressed through the Cornish Leagues into the South West Regional League where in 2008/9 not only did they win the Division 1 West title but also the Cornwall County Cup. 2009/10 sees more progress with the side coming close to another promotion finishing as runners up in the Premier Division and failing nar- rowly to retain the Cornwall County Cup losing 3-2 to Newquay in a pulsating finalThe end of the season saw their parent club, Saltash United, withdraw their support of the Ladies side due to pitch problems. After frantic negotiations a new home was found in Plymouth at the newly named Marine Acdemy and the Ladies team now have the full support and backing of one of the most respected football networks in Devon. In the squad for the final on the 18th April 2011 are two players, Sam Drewery and Danielle Bradford, who have been in the squad since the very beginning back in 2005.
