Biographical Text
Jack Fitzwater was a free agent when he joined Exeter City in 2023. Having started with West Bromwich Albion, he had most recently played for Livingston.
Having been in West Bromwich Albion’s academy when at school, Jack became a scholar/trainee with the club in 2014 and a full professional the following year. Spending another five years at the Hawthorns, he had loan spells at Chesterfield, Hednesford Town, Forest Green Rovers and - on three separate occasions - Walsall. Making around fifty Football League appearances when on loan, including 37 for Walsall, Jack’s only first-team appearance for WBA was in an FA Cup tie at Charlton in January 2020.
Leaving Albion at the end of the 2019/20 season Jack signed for Livingston and, after making his debut against St Mirren in August 2020, made 27 appearances in all competitions during 2020/21 followed by 46 and 34 games in his second and third seasons with the club. Totalling 86 appearances in the Scottish Premier, Jack left Livingston in the summer of 2023 and, at the age of twenty-five, signed for Exeter City at the start of September 2023.
After making his debut in City's 9-0 defeat against Reading in the EFL Trophy in September 2023, Jack's second appearance came in the 1-0 League Cup victory over Premier League Luton Town the following week. Playing half-a-dozen times at the start of his time at St James' Park, Jack didn't appear again until the game at Northampton Town in April 2024.
Featuring in the squad during the following season, but not always starting games, Jack signed a contract extension in Demcember 2024 through to the end of the 2026/27 campaign.
