WALKER AND HOYLE ON FREE LIST.
Among six players that Exeter City have given free transfers are Steve Walker who since he joined the club in 1938 has filled nearly every position and Bert Hoyle. Other unretained players are Gibson, Rew, Mitchell and Murphy. Fred Durrant has been placed on the open to transfer list.
The retained list is: Goalkeeper Singleton; Fullbacks Johnstone, Clark, Warren, Rowe; Halfbacks, Fallon, Goddard, Davey, Powell, Doyle, Carter, Squires; Forwards Harrower, Smart, Mackay, Smith, McClelland, Regan, Hutchings, Greenwood, and Digby.
Supporters will commend the policy of holding on to players who in 1950 have shown a degree of improvement unapproached by any other team in the 3rd Division.

HOYLE FOR ROVERS ?.
Bert Hoyle the Exeter City Goalkeeper given a free transfer yesterday may sign for Bristol Rovers today. He left Exeter at midday and was interviewed by the Eastville club representatives.

FEE ON NOYLE.
Bert Hoyles name has been removed from the free to open to offer list. Exeter City directors last night decided to put a fee on him to enable him to qualify for his accrued share of benefit. Bristol Rovers are still favourites for his signature although there are two other clubs angling for him.
HOYLE SIGNS FOR ROVERS.
Bert Hoyle the Exeter City goalkeeper who joined the club from Wolves in 1946 was transferred to Bristol Revers today. He accepted terms in preference to the other offers which included one from a 2nd Division club in the North.
GODDARD SIGNING INSIDE STORY.
The inside story of Hay Goddards transfer from Plymouth Argyle to Exeter City was told at last nights annual dinner of the Grecians Association when Mr S.H. Thomas Chairman of the City Directors revealed that the club did not have the money to pay for his transfer fee when he was offered to City, however one of the City Directors said he would lend the club the money provided his identity was kept secret and this is what happened.
Mr Thomas said that wages and other items had involved an expenditure of £30,000 in the past season. Home first team gates averaged over 10,000, Away gates 14,000 he would like to see the gap narrowed.
Mr A.W.Crawshaw Chairman of the Grecians Association appealed to local business people to support the City club which was a big asset to the traders of the City of Exeter. Any monies raised by the Association in the summer would be for ground improvements to St James Park.
