Biographical Text
Horace Wright was briefly on Exeter City's books during the club's first season in the Football League in 1920/21 but did not appear for the first-team. He had previously played in the Football League for Derby County and Coventry City.
Starting with Ilkeston United, his home town club, he appeared for Wath Athletic and Bulwell White Star before making fifteen league appearances for Derby County during the 1910/11 campaign. Later registered with Portsmouth, Darlington and Mansfield Mechanics he returned to Football League action when he played ten times for Coventry City during the first season after the First World War.
Switching to Exeter City for the 1920/21 campaign, he made reserve appearances at inside-left in the Western League before seeing out his career with Aberaman Athletic, Abertillery, Chesterfield and Coalville Town.
Horace Duncan Wright died in Portsmouth in 1951.
