Brilliant football was seen in the Services League international between England and Scotland at St James's Park Exeter. Scotland, for whom McPhee and Gunn were out- standing, won by four goals to two, after being a goal down just after the interval. Scorers for the winners were Gunn (2), McClure, and Manning, and for England, Ashton and Ellis.
The match was played on behalf of the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, and the "gate" was just over £68.
