Clive Pring, working as Exeter City's estate manager, oversaw the playing surfaces at the Cliff Hill training centre at the Cat and Fiddle and worked closely with head groundsman Charlie Woolnough at St James' Park.

Starting his career as a greenkeepr at Woodbury Park Golf and Country Club, Clive gained an HNC in Sports Turf Management beofre taking the position of head of grounds at St Peters School, Lympstone. He then moved to Exeter City firstly as head groundsman and later head of estates.

He also ran Kepring Services, a sports turf business based in Whimple.
