Greenaway, Sid
Sid Greenaway was Exeter City's trainer in years before the Great War. He saw war service with the 2/4th Battalion of the Devonshire Regiment.
There has sometimes been confusion between Sid and Harry Greenaway who were both involved with City between around 1913 and 1915. Whereas Harry has been described as an 'assistant trainer' it is more likely that he was the club's long-term groundsman who also made occasional appearances for City's reserve team.
Whether the two men were related remains subject to conjecture. Official records point to Sydney (or Sidney) John Greenaway born in Exeter in 1885 who had an older brother called Henry (or Harry) Arthur Greenaway (1878-1959). If this is the Exeter City groundsman, he played for the reserves on various occasions in his thirties and worked for the club until his late seventies when he was replaced by Sonny Clarke. The dates for an unrelated younger man - Henry Charles Greenaway (1888-1954) - fit the timeline slightly better suggesting he would have worked for the club up until his death.
