Barge, Andrew

"My first match was a reserve team game at SJP when City lost, 3-1 against Weston Super-mare back in 1977. My first ‘proper’ game came nine months later, in 1978, when Exeter took on Wolves in an FA Cup tie that has gone down in folklore for anyone who was there that day. City drew the game 2-2, but the match is remembered as much for the crowd trouble that marred the day before, during and after the final whistle. I was next at SJP for the Nicky Jennings testimonial when Trevor Francis made his debut for Nottingham Forest as the first £1M player. I started going regularly during the 1981/82 season standing on the Big Bank. Since 2001 I’ve been a regular summariser for BBC Radio Devon commentating and working at three of City’s Wembley visits. I’ve commentated at 85 different grounds following the Grecians. I’m currently a club auditor and Chair of the Disabled Supporters Association."
