Michael Holliday joined Exeter City football club as director in 1990. He was Commercial Director in 1991. 

He later took over the role as club secretary from Stuart Brailey.

He worked under Terry Cooper, and Alan Ball, but in 1995 local rivals Plymouth Argyle came calling and appointed Michael as their new club secretary.
