Playing age-group football for Exeter City during most of his time at school, Josh moved on to study at Hartpury in Gloucestershire after leaving school where he was to gain representative honours as well as play in the Hellenic League.

Reunited with Ben Watson, who had coached him at City, Josh signed for Street of the Western League in July 2024.
