Biographical Text

Chris Summers played for - and scored for - Exeter City Reserves in the 3-1 victory at Hereford United in April 1992. Then aged twenty, he was on trial at St James' Park in an effort to return to the professional game after being released from Cardiff City for whom he had made three league appearances.

Recommended to City by former Grecian Ian Love - then his manager at Barry Town - Chris wasn't offered terms by the club and returned to South Wales where he enjoyed a prolific goalscoring career in the League of Wales with Barry Town, Inter Cardiff, Ton Pentre, Cwmbran Town, Carmarthen Town and Haverfordwest County before dropping down to the lower leagues and playing on to 2010.

Once scoring in eleven consecutive league games, he was League of Wales top scorer in 1999/20 and was capped for Wales at semi-professional level whilst working as a firefighter in Caerphilly.
