Nineteen-year-old forward Amani Richards joined Exeter City on loan from Leicester City soon after the start of the 2024/25 season.
Amani, who had signed for Leicester City at the age of seventeen in January 2022, had been featuring for his club's under-21 team (including a goal-scoring appearance against Burton Albion in the EFL Trophy) when he arrived at St James' Park towards the end of August 2024 having recently signed a contract extension with the Foxes through until the end of the 2026/27 season after reportedly attracting the interest of a number of other clubs. Originally from London, he had previously been on the books of both Chelsea and Arsenal and had represented England at under-16 level whilst at school.
Involved with the first team as soon as he signed, Amani made his debut as a second-half substitute in City's 2-0 win at Bolton Wanderers on 31 August 2024 and scored his first goal for the Grecians in the 1-0 win at Leyton Orient on 1 October 2024.
