Pat Jones joined Exeter City in August 2024 from Huddersfield Town where he had played just short of twenty first-team games and had represented Wales at under-21 level.
Born in Stockport, but growing up in North Wales, Pat played youth football for Ruthin Town and Bala Town before joining Wrexham’s academy during his final years at school. Becoming a scholar/trainee with Huddersfield Town at the age of sixteen, he became a professional the following year prior to making his first-team debut in the FA Cup against Plymouth Argyle in January 2021. Quickly representing Wales at under-17 level, he added two more first-team appearances for the Terriers during the remainder of the 2020/21 season before making his debut for the Welsh under-21 team in June 2022.
After scoring his first goal for Huddersfield in a league game against Norwich City in August 2022, Pat was to make half-a-dozen first-team appearances in 2022/23 followed by another eight during the next campaign as his club was relegated from the Championship. Approaching five years with the West Yorkshire club - and now aged twenty-one - he made a late substitute appearance in the League Cup against Walsall in August 2024 before joining Exeter City three days later just hours before the transfer deadline.
Suffering from a hamstring injury, Pat was out of action during the early stages of his Exeter City career.
