Darryn Welsh

Darryn Welsh was recommended by John Hore, the then Torrington manager to play for Exeter City. He played for the Reserves (Exeter A) in the Devon & Exeter Premier League, starting at the end of 1992-1993 season and he continued to play for the team throughout 1993/94. This supported his studies at Plymouth University where he was studying for a degree and gave him an opportunity to play at a good standard and still develop his game.

Captain of Devon County Schools Under 18's, Darryn had trials for Tottenham Hotspur before being recommended to several south west teams. Darryn scored regularly for the reserve team throughout his period at City under the management of Mike Radford.

He was released by Exeter in June 1994 and went on to represent English and British Universities. He also played for Bideford, Torrington, Mangotsfield United, Dursley Town amongst other clubs.

Darryn has had a long and successful business career in technology and currently holds a senior leadership position in the Telecommunications industry.
