Crediton Grammar Schoool v Exeter City
Played at Crediton on Saturday in miserable weather, the ground and ball being wet and slip- pery. The City had their strongest team of the season, but did not show to much advantage, scoring only one goal in the first half. In the second part of the game, when playing downhill, they were fortunate in scoring three soft goals which should have easily been stopped. The School scored a goal which the referee did not see in the darkness. The better team won, but their form was not impressive. What they lacked was a centre forward who could pass to his wings and a centre half able to feed his forwards.
Exeter City therefore beat Crediton Grammar School, at Crediton, by four goals (Reid, Horner, Sellick, Thomas) to nil.
