St John’s v St Sidwell’s Reserves
Junior League

St John's v St '
St Sidwell's Res. on Saturday played St John's in a League match. St Sidwell's had matters all their own way, but owing to faulty shooting could only put through but two goals, and one of these was headed through by Richards, the St John's back. The other was put through by Russell. St Sidwell's halves and backs played well, Aplin at right back being especially prominent. The forwards combined well in midfield, and Aplin showed some pretty play, but all were weak in front of goal, the ball going anywhere but in the net. The shooting of St Sidwell's will have to improve if they wish to stand well in the Junior League.

Cann, in goal, had nothing to do. The St John's backs and left half played a sound defensive game, but their forwards showed that a knowledge of the game is required, and that some are undoubtedly converts from Rugby.

St Sidwell Res, on Saturday next play St Matthew's away in the Junior League.

St Sidwell's Chiefs on Saturday had another open day. Next Saturday they play Dawlish in connection with the East Devon Senior League, and the game should be a splendidly contested one. The match will be played at Park, commencing at 3. James
