Scorers
St Sidwell's:- Eveleigh 2, Sellick 2, Keech,

Despite the inclement weather, there was a large number of people assembled at St James's Park to witness what was considered to be the "tit bit" of the season in local Association circles, On the College ground earlier this season, the Students had won by 6-1 and a splendid game was promised today. The kick off was performed by Mr Herbert of the Exeter Council, St Sidwells played up the hill in the first half, and with the Collegians attacking hard in the early stages, the United were put under severe pressure. A free kick taken by Gilpin looked dangerous, but Robinson fisted out, and Ashford cleared, The best players in this half were Ashford and Brooks, each kicking well. Shortly before the interval a fine centre from Winter was missed by Towers, and Sellick put the ball into the net. There was a sensation when play resumed in the 2nd half, Brooks being ordered off the field, According to the Referee for "gross impertinence", The Collegians although playing one back, had the better of the exchanges at the outset, and the United defence was put to a very severe test. A corner to the College was cleared, and a dribble by Morgan, half the length of the field brought welcome relief, The Saints then began to assert their superiority, and after some clever work by Keech and Eveleigh, the last named put through a 2nd goal, Continuing to have the better of the game the United scored again. Eveleigh being the last player to touch the ball, and with no hope of saving the game, the play of the Collegians fell away badly, Further goals were obtained by Keech and Sellick. United finished up easy winners,

St. Sidwell's accomplished their finest performance this season on Saturday, when they defeated St. Luke's College in the East Devon League by five goals to nil. This was the first reverse that the College have sus- tained in the competition. Early in the sea- son the Saints went down to the Students by six goals to one, but on this occasion they completely turned the tables. They thoroughly deserved their win, showing by far the better football throughout.

The Saints' forwards line was strengthened by the reappearance of Keech, who played a stirling game. He displayed great dash, and had much to do with the victory of his side. Winter played a great game at outside left, putting in some fine runs and brilliant centres, Eveleigh did very well, and his shooting was most accurate. Thomas made some nice openings for Sellick, who performed splendidly. The halves all played a sound game, with Davidson giving the most finished display. In attack or defence he was capital, and his feeding of the forwards was well timed and accurate. Bailey was missed at back, but Coles, who was brought in at the last minute, performed creditably. Ashford was in great form. Robinson, in goal, was very safe.

The Collegians' front rank combined well, but their shooting lacked sting. Some easy openings were not turned to account. Their display fell far short of their performance before the holidays. The halves were not at their best, but the defence was comparatively early in the game completely upset through Brooks being ordered off. Until then Brooks had been playing brilliantly, and his removal was a great loss to the side. His absence, no doubt, accounted in no small measure for the heaviness of the defeat, but before he left the St. Sidwell's were a goal to the good. They would, no doubt, have won under any cir- cumstances, and they thoroughly deserved to do so on the day's form.
