Scorers
112th:- Level,
St Sidwells :-Russell,

The ground at the Camp Field was almost under water. The strong kicking of Ashford was the feature of the game in the first half, during which Level scored for the Battery and Russell for St Sidwell's, After Lemons the game became very exciting, the soldiers getting to close quarters with Robinson, who saved many good shots. The Battery pinned the Saints in their preserves, but could not score. A penalty was awarded to the Saints but Morgan missed it.

Report
Played at Topsham Barracks. Morgan won the toss, and St Sidwell's had the wind at their backs in the first half. Yates started the ball, and the game was in mid-field for some time.

After some exchanges, the Battery were the first to become dangerous, Hill and Yates being conspicuous. The ground about the goals was stoggy, which rendered good play impossible. There was some good play on the part of the United forwards, and the ball became dangerous, a corner being gained, Hill olearing finely. Play was of an even nature during the first twenty minutes, and a fine run by Winters was finished by the ball being netted by Russell. The United goal was then bombarded, which made things look equal. The United cleared, and before long the soldiers again attacked, Lovell equalising from a pass from Haldington. Up to the changing over, nothing more was registered. In the second half play was very fast, and the United had to act on the defensive. Sellick and Winter at times became prominent, but upon the whole in the latter half the Battery had the best of the game. Nothing was scored, and the result was a draw of one goal each.
