A fair attendance saw St Sidwells kick off playing up the slope, but in the first minute agoal for the Battery was scored by Hill, Later play was in favour of the United, but Thomas struck the edge of the post, and a penalty was kicked wide, Eveleigh then scored for the Saints, and Smith for the Battery. The ensuing play was even, and it was after some hard work by the Grecians that Davidson scored, the goal being rather lucky. Fenwick initiated a nice move in the 2nd half, which ended with Eveleigh shooting into the net, but the point was disallowed, Two further goals were obtained by Davidson, and in the scoring of the 2nd one, Steele was knocked out, but recovered.
