St Sidwell's v Newton Abbot GWR students

St Sidwell’s 2nd v St Sidwell's 3rd,

SATURDAY 28th MARCH 1903,
At Mount Pleasant,

St Sidwell's v Newton Abbot GWR students

The visitors started with the wind and the slope in their favour, but despite being at a disadvantage the Saints maintained a stout defence, Eventually they forced play to their opponents quarters, and Thomas opened the scoring. Up to the interval the encounter was of an even nature, Aplin and Davies added two further goals, but Newton scored four times in the last 10 minutes of the half through Jack, Francis, Frost and Russell, The 2nd half was absolutely fatal to Newton and they crossed the half way line scarecely ever, The Saints showed some pretty combination and goaled per Thomas 2, Eveleigh and Sellick. The 2nd half was so one sided it was uninteresting from every point of view.
