Exeter United v St David’s
Exeter United v St David’
St Sidwell’s players played for St David’s as the Saints had no game.
The St David's men, were assisted by one or two of the St Sidwell's representative's, Coles and Eveleigh.
St DAVID'S 1, (Coles)
Hutchinson; Wilkinson, Maunder; Cury, Berry, Julians; Coles, Eveleigh, Westaway, Bates, Smeath.
EXETER UNITED 3. (Tyte 3)
Bolley; Luke, Fein; Hogan, Bailey, Bamfield; Ashford, Jesty, Tyte, Horner, Hookway.
Played at the St David's ground, Marsh Barton, Tyte scored for the United within 10 minutes of the start, St David's though hard pressed at times, defended with great spirit. Towards half time they scored a goal through Coles, who had the good fortune to put the ball between the posts with a shot that was undoubtedly intended to be a centre. The United although the stronger and faster team, wasted many chances through lack of initiative, their forwards failing to rush the ball through by being contented to stand aimlessly by and allowing the Saints to clear their lines and feed their own forwards. In comparison with their strength St David's played much more sprightly and a pointful game. Tyte accounted for the two remaining goals which brought the score up to 3-1.
